But maybe you don\u2019t feel comfortable in front of the camera, so you\u2019ve avoided trying your hand at creating videos. The purpose of video is to connect with clients more personally and enable them to get a better glimpse of who you are, Robert Kennedy III, a national speaker with Kennetik Kommunications, told attendees Sunday at a session during <a href=\"https:\/\/narnxt.realtor\/\">NAR NXT, The REALTOR\u00ae Experience(link is external)<\/a> in Orlando, Fla. Kennedy said a simple storytelling approach can help calm your fears around what to say and how to structure your videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, find a topic that will speak to your audience. Kennedy suggested using <a href=\"https:\/\/trends.google.com\/trends\/\">Google Trends(link is external)<\/a> to find the most popular searches online and <a href=\"http:\/\/answerthepublic.com\/\">answerthepublic.com(link is external)<\/a> to identify popular questions being asked online. You also can visit YouTube for video ideas. \u201cGet the questions they\u2019re asking, and then use storytelling as a framework or formula so you\u2019re not just showing yourself as an expert\u2014but as their expert,\u201d Kennedy says. Videos can be as short as 60 seconds or less, and you can post them on numerous platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels or Amazon Live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kennedy offered the following formula to move audiences to action:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Have a hook.<\/strong> The hook should leverage the audience\u2019s emotion, such as by stating something shocking or asking an unusual question. Kennedy offered an example: \u201cNow is the absolute worst time in history to buy commercial property. Here\u2019s what you should do instead \u2026\u201d or, \u201cIf you want to grab the absolute lowest interest rates, now is the time to buy. Here\u2019s how I know \u2026\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Add context.<\/strong> Show that you understand your audience\u2019s challenges, and be relatable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Address the conflict.<\/strong> This is the drama and the catalyst of the action you want your audience to take. For example: \u201cBecause of this, you should\/need to\u2026\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Have a conclusion.<\/strong> This part of the video should include a call to action, like inviting viewers to a seminar, clicking on a link, downloading a report or visiting a website.
