Do you have the coverage on your home that is needed when situations come up that will cause you to call on your insurance company for help?  Be it fire, flood or accidents, now is the time to check and see if you have sufficient insurance to cover these and other disasters.  Do a check up with your insurance provider now before it happens to see what you could be lacking in.

Are you in a flood plain? Chances are your policy doesn’t cover floods from outside sources.  You may need to upgrade to that plan.  What if you’re not in a flood plain, but lately you notice rivers and streams close to you cresting during the rainy season?  You might want to call your provider and talk about adding that to your policy to be sure sufficient insurance is there if and when you need it for something like that.

Most of the time, a home owner doesn’t realize they lack the right amount of coverage to rebuild after a disaster, until it’s too late.  With the costs of building materials and labor on the rise, policies that are even two to three years old might not have the amount of funds in the needed to rebuild a home after a fire or other serious catastrophe.
