More home owners in the foreclosure process are finding that their home may no longer be underwater, according to a new report by RealtyTrac.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause of rising home prices, many of the home owners in the foreclosure process \u2014 more than a third \u2014 actually have positive equity,\u201d says Daren Blomquist, vice president of RealtyTrac. \u201cThat will enable some of them to avoid foreclosure,\u201d allowing the home owners to either sell or refinance.<\/p>\n

However, \u201cmany distressed home owners with equity may not realize they have it and, in some cases, have vacated the property already, assuming that their foreclosure is inevitable,\u201d Blomquist says.<\/p>\n
